Now SAP B1 has moved a big step toward impoving the visualization with the tool:  Personal Work Center. This personal work center providing new and comfortable features, direct searching of Customers / Items / Documents, fast menu access to common used functions and reports, displaying dashboards.

   Before you start

Change the password  of B1i  user by the following:

  • logon as manager
  • start Administration -> Setup -> General -> Users, select B1i and change       the password. Select SuperUser option for B1i, and Password never Expires, if the password policy setting is different than low.
  • as next important step, logon as B1i user, and again change the password (this step is required)

You can download the B1i integration package from service marketplace by       http://service.sap.com/sbo-swcenter.

Also a Java JDK 5.0 is necessary for the Integtation component, so download from     http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp

Tip: Use SQL server default instance instad of named instance on     your environment, if possible. (for named sql instances the Dashboarding did not     worked for us).

    Installation

Installation followed by Installation_Guide_for_the_Integration_Component.pdf,     located in installation package \ Documentation folder.

    Post Installation steps

Tip: By installation default, web access is limited to the local     machine only. After installation it is possible to manually allow access by remote     machines, by changing the particular setting in the configuration file xcellerator.cfg.     (at default installation is located in C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One Integration\B1iServer\tomcat\webapps\B1iXcellerator     folder), and set the following option:

xcl.http.localOnly=false

SAP Business One Integration Service must be restarted after configuration changed.

After installation finished, read the AdministratorGuide_Integration_Component.pdf     document from \ Documentation folder of Integration Component    .Follow up the guide, activate the licenses as described for B1i user:

- B1iINDIRECT_MSS
- B1i

Activating Cockpit / DashBoards Widgets for the Cockpit

Cockpit was working for me with Sap skin only (path to change: Administration->System     Initialization -> General Settings, select Display tab, and change the "Skin     Style" to SAP Signature Design.)

To activate the cockpit do the following steps:

  • Administration->System Initialization -> General Settings, select Cockpit
  • select "Enable Cockpit at Company Level" , and "Enable Cockpit at Company Level"       options
  • enter B1i Server Address as described in the documentation
  • do not select the "Always trust this server" option
  • restart SAP B1 client (close and start again).

Tip: I have used IP addtress instead of server name, like http://<IPDADDRESS>:8080/B1iXcellerator/exec/ipo/vP.001sap0004.in_HCSX/com.sap.b1i.vplatform.runtime/INB_HT_CALL_SYNC_XPT/INB_HT_CALL_SYNC_XPT.ipo/proc

Read Working_with_Dashboards_in_the_Integration_Component_EN.pdf document from       \ Documentation folder of Integration Component install directory.
